Selling your car to Carbase is incredibly simple, and the quote we give you can be used to buy a used car from our range, to contribute to a finance deal, or simply to put extra cash in your pocket. Read on to find out the three steps our valuation tool will guide you through:

Step 1: Provide your car's details

When selling or part-exchanging your car, you will need to let us know a couple of details about your vehicle so that we can accurately calculate your quote. This quote will be based on a number of factors, including the condition of your car and the number of miles it has on the clock.

We've added a section dedicated to selling your car on our website and included a link to our 'Sell your car' valuation form on our home page. Click on the 'Value car' button and you'll see a pop-up valuation questionnaire which starts the process.

The questionnaire will ask you for:

• Your vehicle's registration number
• Your vehicle's mileage
• Your mobile number, for verification purposes

What's more, you can choose to use the valuation tool in one of two ways - either to receive a guide price for the worth of your car, or to calculate the approximate monthly finance payment you could expect to receive if you part exchanged it with us.

Use the tool as usual from our home page or 'Sell your car' section for a stand-alone price, or choose to view a car from our used car selection and click 'Sell your car' on the vehicle details page for a finance quote.

Step 2: Receive your quote

Once you've entered all your details, we'll identify your vehicle and give you a quote for your car in seconds. We'll identify your vehicle in terms of four different categories: the make, the colour, whether its automatic or manual, and whether it runs on petrol or diesel.

You will be able to choose the rating of your car's condition - between one and five stars - simply by clicking the star rating in the valuation tool, and this will affect the prices you'll see.�

We'll give you three prices in a handy graph:

• New List Price - this is the amount of money your car was worth when brand new.
• Private Guide Price - this is the amount that a guide or database would suggest your used car could be worth on average (based on the average prices from forecourt sales, private vendors and auctions).
• Your Guide Offer - this is the price that we will offer for your used car, based on a number of factors including wear and tear condition, the number of miles you have done, and how desirable your vehicle is to the market.

Our part-exchange or selling service doesn't come with any fees, so the figures you see will give you a clear guide in terms of what you can expect to receive for your car.

Step 3: Your price

Once you have received the Guide Offer for your vehicle, a member of our team will be in touch to arrange a time for you to bring your car in for a full appraisal - once this has been done, and your car checked over against the description you've given us, you will receive your valuation price.
