When should I change my tyres?
Tyre changing is typically done every 5-6 years, even if your tyre still looks like it is in working order and if it has a good-looking tread. You may be able to notice if your tyres need changing, simply by visual indications. This could be the tread being worn below the recommended levels, sidewall damage, holes in the tread deeper than 6mm diameter, bead damage and deformation.
How else can I maintain my tyres?
As already stated, you should regularly inspect your tread and there is a unique way to easily do this - using the 20p method, as a benchmark, to see if they are still safe to use. For this, you can also use the tread wear indicators on your tyre or tread depth gauges to help you assess them. Also ensure that you check your tyres once a month and when you go on long journeys.
