June 2023 marks a remarkable milestone for Carbase, as we proudly celebrate 20 years of being part of the automotive industry. Today, we take a moment to reflect on our journey and express our gratitude to our valued customers, dedicated employees, and trusted partners who have been instrumental in our success.
We haven't always been known as Carbase. When we first opened in 2003, we were a family-run dealership known as Brent Cars. With a focus on providing high-quality vehicles, transparent pricing and exceptional customer service, we quickly gained the trust and loyalty of our customers. As the years passed, our reputation grew, and we expanded our operations to become a market leader in the automotive industry.
In 2005, two years after opening as we rebranded to Carbase and then began opening new stores further afield. We opened our Weston-super-Mare store in 2006, followed by Lympsham in 2009 and Bristol in 2015. In 2019, we opened our Vanbase site in Bristol.
Our Journey
At the heart of Carbase's success is our unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. We believe in building lasting relationships with our customers, understanding their unique needs, and delivering tailored solutions.
We have been Highly Rated for Customer Service by Auto Trader for three years running, from 2020-2022, with our eyes firmly set on winning the title for a fourth consecutive year. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always ready to assist, ensuring that every customer's journey with Carbase is smooth, enjoyable, and memorable.
To demonstrate our commitment to providing quality to our customers, we took the steps to become an RAC-Approved dealer and we joined the Retail Motor Federation's Independent Garage Association. Carbase being aligned with both these organisations reinforces the high standards of service that we always strive for.
As well as customer service, we've always believed innovation is the key to progress. Throughout our journey, we have continually embraced new technologies and pioneered groundbreaking solutions to enhance the car-buying process. Our user-friendly and award-winning website has made discovering, researching and buying vehicles so easy for our customers.
Our commitment to constant improvement is shown in the awards presented to us by the automotive industry. We have been commended and awarded as Most Improved Dealership of the Year, Used Car Retailer of the Year, and won Business Initiative of the Year. Our website has won Used Car Website of the Year and we've been Highly Commended for our Digital Excellence. We have also repeatedly been named a Car Gurus Top Rated Dealer.
Giving Back
As we celebrate this significant milestone, we also acknowledge the importance of giving back to the communities that have supported us throughout the years. We are committed to making a positive impact and contributing to the wellbeing of society.
In 2017, we began our partnership with mental health charity BEN, an organisation that supports people in the automotive community for life, emphasising health and wellbeing.
As well as this, we have supported local charity Bristol and Weston Hospitals Charity (previously called Above and Beyond) through the years and, later, partnered with them, to support the amazing work they do with Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. In 2021, a number of our team even abseiled the hospital and raised over £2,000 for the hospital, bringing our fundraising total for the hospital to over £13,000!
We're also proud to have given back to local grassroots sports clubs, including Weston AFC, Weston Crusaders U14s and North Petherton RFC.
