NSSR Repair RNLI Vandalism Damage

NSSR come to the aid of Weston RNLI

The Weston-super-Mare RNLI woke up to a sad sight on Sunday 30th September 2018. During the night their lifeboat station at Knightstone Island had been vandalised, suffering several hundred pounds worth of damage. An 8 x 5ft sign had been ripped off of the unit and caused further damage to their Mitsubishi L200 truck, which is vital to the RNLI as it is used to transport crew members and drums of lifeboat fuel.

The repair costs were a daunting realisation for the RNLI crew since they are a charity that relies on public donations, and this money could better used for essential equipment and training.

The RNLI appealed to the local community for information that could help catch the culprits. Neil Shailer of NSSR saw their plight and stepped up to offer his services to repair the damaged truck free of charge!

Here at Carbase we are extremely proud of Neil and the NSSR team, having worked along side them for many years! The quality of their work is top notch and to offer it at no charge is highly commendable.

If you have any information regarding the vandalism please contact the Weston RNLI or call the Police on 101.
